Welcome to Fairhope
Located on 10 acres in downtown Fairhope, Coastal Alabama Community College Fairhope offers a variety of programs to meet the needs of the community. Our site is leased from the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation and is the former site of the Marietta Johnson School of Organic Education which is recognized on the National Registry of Historical Places.
The Fairhope campus offers general education courses within our Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees. It is also the home to several technical programs that focus on local workforce needs including Nursing, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, Graphic Arts, Computer Animation, and Virtual and Dynamic Realities. The Fairhope campus is also home to our Center for Professional Development which offers training for existing business and industry and continuing education including health sciences and arts. Free general education development (GED) courses are also offered through the Adult Education Department. Halstead Amphitheater is located on the Fairhope campus and was funded by generous community contributors and Coastal Alabama Community College. It includes a state-of-the-art brick and stone stage designed to complement the Fairhope atmosphere that highly supports the arts including music, movies, and theater.
Coastal Alabama Community College Fairhope is proud to partner with the Baldwin County Public School System. Local students attending the Baldwin County Virtual School (BCVS) come to our campus to meet with instructors and complete the required coursework. Through their online learning environment and dual enrollment partnership with Coastal Alabama Community College, BCVS offers high school students the chance to develop the skills needed for a successful transition to college and careers.
Our campus also partners with The Walking School Bus. In 2000, The Baldwin County Trailblazers organized the first International Walk to School Day event for schools in Fairhope, Daphne, and Spanish Fort. This annual promotion of children walking to school transformed into a monthly themed “smart walk” with 3 schools for 6 years. After deciding that daily walks were the true goal, Trailblazer Charlene Lee created a pilot daily Walking School Bus program in 2013 in partnership with Fairhope Elementary School and the City of Fairhope. Rain or shine, the children meet at the Coastal Alabama Fairhope campus and walk .6 mile with teachers, adult volunteers, parents, and sometimes family dogs. The Trailblazers Walking School Bus is the only daily Walking School Bus in the state of Alabama.
