Transfer Timeline

If you’re planning on transferring to a four-year institution once you complete your time with us at Coastal, here’s a timeline that will help you stay on track to reach your goal in a timely manner:

(0-15 hours)

• Choose a Major: If you are undecided on a major, you may want to complete the career assessment found here. Make sure to save your results page so you can discuss your results with an advisor.
• Meet with an advisor for degree planning/career exploration
• Review Alabama Transfers guide/transfer requirements

(16-30 hours)

• Visit college/university websites
• Apply for financial aid for the next award year
• Check transfer requirements for any updates
• Update Resume
• Meet with your advisor to discuss any updates to your plan

(31-45 hours)

• Begin applying to colleges/universities and/or review job postings-send transcript to schools of your choosing
• Meet with your advisor for a pre-graduation audit assessment
• Research/apply for available scholarships

(45-60 hours)

• Continue applying for scholarships
• Apply for graduation
• Choose which school you want to attend and get final transcript sent once all grades post/degree conferred
• Apply for jobs
