Inaugural Night of Worship Features University of Mobile Ensembles
Feb 25th, 2025 Featured

Coastal Alabama Community College hosted its inaugural Night of Worship, featuring special guest ensembles from the University of Mobile—Ram:Corps and the Voices of Mobile. The L.D. Owen Performing Arts Center was packed as attendees gathered for an unforgettable evening of music, testimony, and worship – all sponsored by Baptist Campus Ministries and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
The night opened with an electrifying performance from Ram:Corps, a high-energy brass and percussion ensemble that immediately captivated the nearly 400-person audience. From powerful saxophone solos to dynamic drum breaks, their upbeat sound set the tone for an evening of celebration and praise.
Following their performance, guest speaker and Coastal Alabama alumnus Billy Brown delivered a moving testimony, inspiring all in attendance with his powerful message of faith and mercy.
The grand finale came with the Voices of Mobile, whose stunning harmonies and heartfelt performances left the audience in awe. Their set featured a diverse selection of worship songs, blending contemporary and traditional elements in a way that deeply resonated with the crowd.
A particularly special moment of the evening was honoring Dr. Roger Breland in his final concert as the University of Mobile’s Director of Voices of Mobile. University of Mobile alumni applauded Dr. Breland and his years of dedication as they led a standing ovation for the visionary of the university’s musical development over the years.
In a surprise announcement, Dr. Lonnie Burnett, Vice President of Coastal Alabama Community College and former President of the University of Mobile, introduced a finale performance featuring Coastal Alabama’s own Bri Burrell. Ms. Burrell, former Miss Alabama, took the stage alongside her brother, Cedric Burrell—a six-year member of Voices of Mobile—for a breathtaking duet.
This incredible event would not have been possible without the support of First Baptist Church of Bay Minette, Bay Assembly, 3Circle Church, and Baptist Campus Ministries who provided food and resources to help make the night a success.
Coastal Alabama Community College is thrilled with the overwhelming response to this inaugural event and looks forward to making next year’s Night of Worship an even greater celebration of faith and music.
